The Untouched Nature of Hokkaido: Nature, History and Everyday Life of Hidaka Mountains and Sarugawa River (2 nights, 3 days)

At the mountain districts of Hokkaido, magnificent nature and people’s compact everyday life exist hand in hand. This is a high-quality private tour, that is filled with plenty of interaction with the locals, as well as learning about the history and the local culture, including Ainu culture and customs.

Hidaka Mountains is a mountain range in Hokkaido’s southeast part, approximately two hours by car from Sapporo.

Hidaka is not one of Hokkaido’s most visited touristic areas, but it’s artless beauty and bare nature, along with the locals who warmly welcome travelers make it something quite charming and worth visiting

For years I used to travel and live all over Asia. After those fulfilling years experiencing the gorgeous nature and enjoying the cultural exchange with my local friends, Hidaka and its wonderful residents made me fall in love and made me feel like I was finally home.

I want to make other fellow travelers experience something like those happy memories that I have of my own journeys, and I think here in Hidaka, with the warm support of the locals, it is possible.

When asked “If you were to show a dear friend of yours around, what you would like to show them the most?” my answer was to create this tour full of nature and interaction with the brilliant local people, at my beloved Hidaka.

Let me make you also feel like you have finally found to your true hometown!
